Partners in Hope is a non-profit organization with a hospital in Lilongwe, the Capital City of Malawi, that provides equitable and high quality medical services. PIH was established by Dr. Perry Jansen, an American family physician, together with a group of committed Malawian professionals to address the devastating HIV and AIDS epidemic in 2004. Founded upon the desire to glorify God and demonstrate the love of Christ in word and deed, Partners in Hope is tirelessly and relentlessly committed to providing extraordinary patient care with compassion and dignity for all. The organization has established systems for providing low-cost medical care to the poor by leveraging on its great potential to tap into the vast resources of the growing middle- and upper-class Malawians, and expatriates.
Knitted into the heart of Partners In Hope is the spirit and dedication of our people across our three main areas of focus; Health Service Delivery, Medical Education and Research, and Capacity Building.
Partners in Hope has a Medical Centre that operates a general clinic, in-patient ward and an HIV and AIDS clinic. We also complement the Government of Malawi’s efforts through provision of support to the Ministry of Health, Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) and private health facilities in nine districts across the country.
Partners in Hope is a recipient of the Cooperative Agreement No: 72061221CA00010 “Client-Oriented Response for HIV Epidemic Control (CORE) Activity Component One (1)” award by the United States of America PEPFAR through USAID. The award was presented following the successful HIV Care and Treatment implementation in nine districts of Mulanje, Chikwawa, Lilongwe, Nsanje, Dowa, Kasungu, Nkhotakota, Karonga, and Chitipa. In 2023, PIH was also recognised in the 2023 Presidential Zikomo Awards that were held under the theme “Celebrating Self-reliance” in Malawi.
