Job Overview
Reporting to the Radiologic Technologist, the Radiography Technician will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services, including X-rays, ultrasound scans and specialised radiologic procedures. The role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a patient-centred approach. The Technician will also support departmental operations through equipment monitoring, quality assurance, and mentorship of junior staff.


The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, sound ethical judgment, and effective communication to ensure smooth operations within the radiology department. They will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively, with the flexibility to take on additional duties as assigned.


  • Key duties and responsibilities
    Perform x-rays, general ultrasound scanning, computerised tomography examinations and other special examinations.
  • Recognise faults in radiographic and photographic equipment and accessories, and report to the engineer or appropriate authority.
  • Recognise radiographic appearances and take necessary supplementary projections for better diagnosis.
  • Assist in supervision and teaching of the practical aspects to assistants and students, or any other authorised member.
  • Have necessary social, ethical and technical skills to ensure the smooth running of the X-ray department and the care of the patients.
  • Be capable of supervising X-ray rooms.
  • Managerial skills with the capability to resolve emerging conflicts with the staff members at the department.
  • Should be a self-starter
  • Able to perform ultrasound procedures.
  • Participate in the quality assurance programme involving
  • Standardisation of techniques and reject analysis
  • Equipment performance and fault finding
  • Perform any other duties assigned to him/her by the supervisor, “Christ’s Love in word and deed”


Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be a holder of a Diploma in Radiography
  • Should be registered with the Medical Council of Malawi
  • Work experience minimum of 2 years
